Getting to the idea.

While working on my necklace of fireworks, Janice suggested that the wire-wrapped fireworks would also look good in a panel or frame. I had some wood left over from my rocks-in-a-cube project, so I knew I could easily make a small wooden frame, and did the next day, Sunday, June 1, 2008.
The idea for using a weathered wooden 2 x 4 board for the base came during the planning and early construction phases--before I had assembled the basic wooden frame. Lacking a table saw, I decided to use an electric chainsaw to cut and rough up the board for the base.
I just love small-scale fireworks and this panel is a perfect way to display them for frequent viewing. I plan to build several or more of these hanging fireworks panels (after I replenish my nearly depleted fireworks supply). One idea is to make one of these panels and light all the fireworks...I can only imagine how cool that charred object will look.
